The work comes down to three things. We keep the Cross where it stands. We keep the land an open park for everyone. And we improve it over time.
Donations pay for insurance, water, electricity, landscaping, litter pickup and improvements. Every gift is tax-deductible.

In January 2010, stoneworkers from around the world came to the hill and built the ramparts in ten days. A family from Japan led the work. They have built castle walls for eight generations.
The stone came from a quarry in Ojai. The walls are dry-stone: no mortar, every block held in place by gravity alone.
The Stone Foundation brought “rock knockers” from several states to learn the method. Look for the hand-carved stone sphere that sits on one of the ramparts.
On December 5, 2017, the Thomas Fire burned much of the park. Firefighters saved the Cross.
The hill has been coming back ever since. Pete Dufau of Dufau Landscape in Ventura donated and installed part of the new landscaping. Volunteers keep replanting.
Every gift replants what the fire took.

Serra Cross Park is open to the public every day. The gates lock at 8 PM.
You will find it in Grant Park, on the hill above Mission San Buenaventura, in Ventura.
